Here's a new idea: a mix album designed to promote the products of IBC-Designs.com Christian clothing company. And I imagine it will work, by raising the 'street' image of the company. The chosen tunes, by up and coming US Christian rap acts such as Sev Static, Indascreet, Mista & Mrs Taylor, are pretty stylish with up-to-date urban grooves. The rhymes are delivered with an unashamed attitude, though clichés do creep in from time to time. There's a good ratio of male/female, rap/singing, but the tempo does not offer much variation. There's nothing particularly remarkable to be found here, but there's nothing particularly off-putting either. Having said that, it does seem to be more true to today's urban styles than most new releases from the big established Christian record companies. If this style of music already nods your head, then you'll not be disappointed by discovering the artists featured here, but you'll probably not be blown away either. It is one long commercial after all.
