Earlier in the year Provident Music released 'Absolute Worship' and this is now the next in that series. Unfortunately the title of this album should really be something like 'Absolutely Average Hits: 25 Outdated US Christian Radio Hits From Today's Top US Christian Artists'. Cynical? Me? What are you talking about? No, now let's be fair, if you're a regular Cross Rhythms reader then you will have heard of the majority of the artists on this collection and they have released some great songs but I would put few of those included here in the "smash hit" category - they're not bad, just not great. The 25 tracks include an eclectic mix of the likes of 12 Stones, Grits, Superchic[k] to name but a few, but all are pretty dated even going back as far as 1997 with Jennifer Knapp's "Undo Me". The only upside is the fact there are some newer tracks from the lesser known Jonah33, James Clay, Paul Wright, Exit East and Broken Frame.
