‘A Life God Rewards’ is an album of worship music inspired by the Bruce Wilkinson (The Prayer Of Jabez author) book of the same name. A collection of seven songs written by a range of artists and featuring boy band Plus One and Natalie Grant amongst its singers, it is a short yet inspiring album. Beginning with the gentle “All I See” perfectly matched to the vocal talents of Natalie Grant, and my favourite track, it goes on to more traditional-type anthems. This is not so much an album to sing along to, but one that is indeed thought provoking. The album’s final track, “Thank You”, is perhaps the surprise addition of the album. The 1988 Ray Boltz song tells a story of a man who dreams he journeys to Heaven where his friend gets to meet many people whose lives he had affected, with the chorus: “Thank you for giving to the Lord, I am a life that was changed…” The overall theme of ‘A Life God Rewards’ seems to be the importance of devoting your life to God’s purposes and focusing on the much greater reward in Heaven that awaits those who serve him now.
