Vanessa's deep, soulful tones have raised her through the ranks to undertake what is now her second solo recording. Having done backing vocals for Yolanda Adams and Richard Smallwood, Vanessa has come to the fore. The strength of the backing vocal arrangements on this recording shows that she learnt a lot as there is a stunning blend of small group vocal harmonies. Although she has the style of a soloist for a Mass Choir, the album has a contemporary R&B feel with the occasional touch of neo-soul. The album creates a calming, peaceful atmosphere, with complementary lyrics such as on tracks like "Delicate Heart" and "He's Concerned About You" showing a mature sensitivity. With a multitude of songwriters/lyricists behind her, the album has a compassionate and even pastoral tone in what is being communicated. It should come as small surprise therefore that the project was well grounded in the church, in this case being recorded at Straight Gate Church, Detroit. The outstanding track is "Only You Are Holy" which is an awe inspiring outpouring of praise to a "God of peace and love". Vanessa is likely to be producing quality soulful praise for many years to come.
