From Albuquerque, New Mexico in the USA comes this ten song collection moulded very much in the urban soul style of Mary Mary. Three years ago Trevor Kirk reviewed Valeree's previous recording and expressed doubts at that time about her ability to keep up with the ever evolving dance music scene. Having given 'Broken Tear's' a thorough airing I have to admit that, to my mind, this latest offering has confirmed Trevor's worst fears. Kicking off with the strangest opening track I've ever heard - an insipid instrumental, Valeree, aided and abetted by producer Madik of Alumni Studios, proceeds to work her way earnestly through a collection of soulful songs that had tunes and lyrics that I have heard far too many times before. There's no denying that Valeree can sing but in an industry where originality is the name of the game they sure aren't winning with this offering.
