Beverley Gough, otherwise known as Choo Triflesky, fronts a Welsh duo whose music refuses to fit neatly into any category (how does jazz-tinged electro alt pop sound?) yet unlike other originators wallowing in a trough of self-indulgence are wiley enough to craft strong hooks and keep it accessible. Now their first full length compilation offers more of the same, Choo’s eerily moody voice gliding and purring through all manner of rhythms and grooves dreamt up by studio maestro Q. If you have the dynamic duo’s previous EP ‘A Taste Of Triflesky’ (reviewed in CR65) and ‘Thirsty’ (CR69) you’ll already have the tracks here. Others need to investigate.
