Nashville singer/songwriter Tquan Moore has been writing songs for over 15 years now and this release sees the former Beckoned front man put his songs in the hands of producers Jeffery Armstreet and Ryan Booth. Moore's smooth voice is a cross between soul man Seal and former dc Talk singer Michael Tait and he puts his obvious skills to good use in songs like the opener "Here We Are But Straying Pilgrims" which gives a modern slant on the old I N Carmen hymn. Whilst tracks like "More To Be Seen" and "Open" showcase Moore's abilities as an accomplished and poetic wordsmith, the overall sound and feel of this album gives off the impression that the artist is sitting in third gear as opposed giving it all he's got. There are some nice touches though - the slide-festooned "Don't Stop Praising" and the stripped down call to be ready "Your Time Is Now", for example - but more moments of inspiration are needed to take Moore's work to the next level. Proceedings rally near the end with a captivating version of Jonathan Barrick's "Finally Headed Home" which, like the rest of this album, points wholeheartedly to God and is undeniably different to your bog standard Nashville release.
