As the title would suggest, this is Tisa's second independent album release. Originally from Florida, though now settled with family in Virginia, Tisa grew up singing in church and talent contests. She had a little success too, being influenced by the likes of Yolanda Adams and Cece Winans. Those names provide an indication of the musical style offered here, but there is still room for improvement and development in more crucial areas. There is passion, energy and determination in her voice, but the intonation, character and range are not quite up to the stellar standards of her heroines. Tisa writes most of the songs, with a little help from her husband, but again they lack that last 5% which makes a good song great. Worship and praise are a strong focus, though the lyrics are mostly cut and paste from the favourite phrases of 20th century gospel. If she's local to you, then she deserves your support. But maybe Tisa is not quite ready to receive international acclaim at this time.
