In the early '70s a series of choral pop albums by The Continentals appeared in the UK Christian bookshops. Shortly afterwards albums with titles like 'Het Oude Verhaal' (The Old Story) became very popular in The Netherlands, bringing together large groups of young people to perform new and existing music. A quarter of a century on and various ensembles bearing The Continentals name still tour Europe and the USA. As well as The Continentals proper there is also these guys, a choir of 13-16 year old performers who record and tour, and this, their latest album, shows they abound in talent. With strong lead vocals from 10 singers and a superb backing band, the Young Continentals belt out a series of great songs originally performed by the likes of TobyMac, Lenny LeBlanc and The Tribe. Opener "Gotta Move" sets the tone and from then on Tim Hosman's and Cam Floria's excellent arrangements and Leen La Riviere's brilliant production ensure that the other 11 songs are performed with panache, enthusiasm and real skill. "All Around The World" captures something of the reach of the music and there isn't a duff track on the album.
