This is an album for all American Midwestern rock lovers, although they try to funk it up on a few tracks. The songs are evangelistic in the sense that they point towards Christ and are aimed at searching hearts rather than committed Christians. With 16 tracks on this album, it is definitely good value for money. You can hear a trace of Keith Green in the lead vocalist's voice and in the songwriting. I must admit that this is not really my cup of tea but to be fair to The Wayside it is a very good album. If you really like mellow American rock then you will enjoy this. One word to the band - why didn't you record a full version of "Shades And Flowers"?
