It's so easy to immediately dismiss a band like The Walla Recovery on the basis of 'I haven't heard of them, so they must be mediocre at best.' These were my first thoughts when I came across the Fort Worth folksters. This, their first offering, is gentle melodic folk-rock incorporating a cello into the usual mixture of guitars, drums and vocals. Generally Christ-orientated in nature, tracks that stand out are the bouncy "Disaster" which, contrary to its upbeat melody, is really a cry for help from a troubled mind. Similarly, "Break Me", is in the same vein and features the poignant lyric, 'Show me how to need your grace'. The words of Zack Smith, lead vocalist and songwriter, challenges the listener throughout, and can't be praised highly enough. An infectious grower.
