On every level this album has been well put together. It is refreshing to hear what can be done with an acoustic band, some feeling and a great deal of talent. Musically the album is very definitely bluegrass gospel but the tracks are quite varied, from the blistering finger-picking style of "Solid As A Rock" to the acappeila sound of "He Delivered Me". Throughout the music and the harmonies are tight and spirited. The album is also well produced. The recording and mixing manages to capture and reproduce a refreshingly acoustic, but not at all rough, sound. All but three tracks on the album are well written by members of the band but although they work well as songs, the lyrics, given on the album cover, are what stop this being a really great album for me. There is nothing here that I don't feel that I've never heard before, although rarely performed so well.
