Faced with the prospect of reviewing a single from a band I have no knowledge of and without the benefit (safety net?) of a biography. I was pleased lo see that the sleeve included a website. Unfortunately. I was faced with a grainy photo and explanation that the site is currently under reconstruction. Oral! Foiled by the world wide web again! At this stage it is easy to revert to the typical reviewer's charades "sounds like", hut I am going to break with tradition. Instead of the usual comparison with a mainstream artist, I thought I would use my descriptive abilities to give you a picture of location. So. The Miscellaneous sound is akin to a support act at a stadium gig in Philadelphia aspiring to be headliners next lime around, as opposed to a band playing in a half filled club in Birmingham on a Thursday night. Do you have the picture? Their sound is a non-MOR guitar-based rock with strong vocals and bright "'stick in your head for days" melodies. On the strength of the single I have been given enough of a taster to want to seek out the album this was taken from. Highly recommended.
