Now if I said throw another log on the fire, get your slippers on and break out the Horlicks, you would get a good picture for the new Mighty Clouds Of Joy. There is more chance of the Royle Family appearing on Ask The Family than there is of this album getting you out of your chair. If you’re looking for slick production and sound gospel lyrics, then this is for you. “Help Me Lift The Saviour Up” and “What A Difference” do manage to lift the proceedings, and the James Brownesque “Miracle” has “hit” stamped all over it. The facts are clear though, The Clouds have been nominated for 10 Grammies in their 39 years of recording, winning four times. In 1998, they were inducted into the original Gospel Music Hall Of Fame and on April 20th 1999, they were inducted into the GMA Hall Of Fame in Nashville, TN. Through this album and each album before, the message is as clear as it ever has been and will, hopefully, continue to be. The Mighty Clouds Of Joy have not put down the gospel they picked up nearly 40 years ago.
