An album with a chequered history. Released in 1979 on CBS' short lived Priority Christian music subsidiary, it subsequently got a UK Christian bookstores via the old Marshalls company but for many years has been unavailable. Now, rather surprisingly, it has been deemed suitable for reissue, presumably because the veteran quartet are now back and gigging and have a new album out. Back in 79 they were very much a group in transition, trying to keep one foot in the storefront church with Joe Ligon still rasping and roaring like a good one and one foot in the lucrative supper club market with 70s soul sounds. Consequently, this set is rather dated. But Joe and his buddies can still whoop up a head of steam. Probably though, this is for collectors only.
