This is a message for Peter Lewis. A long long time ago you visited Skelton in Cleveland where my dad (John Goode) arranged some school visits and performances. I remember you coming to our house to eat and you invited me to sing a song with you (I was too nervous). I still sing Ellen Vanin, but not in public! My dad mentioned you the other day and I'd love to know if you still perform, or what you are doing now? This was all so long ago I'm sure you won't remember, but you had a big impact on us back then, and we remember you fondly. Kind regards, Sam

Hi Peter
It's me again i keep on forgetting about the site and then i couldn't get into my account so that's why i haven't answered to you for so long :(
In between that ridiculous amount of time since then and now i have managed to hear the Big Story EP, i like it alot. Is there anything else by you and the band?
Also back in the early days, do you remember anyone (or was there?) in the band called Dave Dover-Bass? If so he's my college tutor here in Liverpool

I heard your nomination of Brother Ronald as an Everyday Saint on GMS on 3rd.
We knew Brother Ronald in Cambridge in the early 1940's and had not heard anything about him since so it was with sadness that we learnt of his death, but pleased to know a little about him. He used to cycle to our village on a racing cycle with his habit tucked into the rope round his waist - glad to hear he had upgraded to a lambretta. I still have a card with a prayer he had written which he gave me when he left Cambridge and a gift from a Christmas party the Brothers gave in Cambridge. It is an honour to have known him.

Hello Mike.
I'm sorry about the delay in replying to you. I've only just noticed your message.
If you can give me yours or your church's email address I'll be glad to send you some of our recordings.
We were some of the pioneers of the Christian ‘Merseybeat’ and electric guitars and drums in worship.
Things have come a long way since the 1960′s. Then our music was a novelty in Churches. Now it is an industry!
It would be good to hear from anyone whose church we visited to introduce the new style of music.

Hi Peter...Heard you on Radio 2 yesterday!! Remember me?? We met at St Christophers in Shiregreen plus Scargill House plus some other places too. Many years ago....early 1960s I think.
Hope all is well with you...what are you up to these days?

Hello Peter, my name is Manfred Kuhlmann, I am from Bielefeld / Germany and I am the author of the Merseybeat-books "The Sound With The Pound" and "Beat Waves Cross The Mersey". In my forthcoming book "Some Other Guys" I have featured the story of the Liverpool Raiders - as far as I could find it out. I really do need some more info on the group-story (I know you started as a Cliff & the Shadows-type group with later members of the Cordes - and most of all a photo and possibly a coloured image that I can use for the book-cover. Can you please, please help me ? The problem is that time is a bit tight as the book normally is ready for printing and is really due to come out soon. Please come back to me, I will let you know what I found out and ask you some detailed questions.
I look forward to hearing from you again. Best regards from Bielefeld - Manfred Kuhlmann

Hi Pete, I'm not sure you will remember us in Cragg Vale, near Halifax, but I have just bought the green kaftan worn by Sir Jimmy on his visit with you and the Raiders, along with it was a photo of yourself and Jim he had kept. Marion And I, Yvonne, send our regards to you. Cheers Yvonne

The Liverpool Raiders came to our church -Dad was the vicar-in about 1967. I still have the Big Story EP. I was wondering if it was on CD as we no longer have the record player and I still love the songs -and the youth of today think they are revolutionary!!
