God bless Dame Thora. Sunday nights, cheese sandwiches and Songs Of Praise. Some music just takes you back, and this is one example. The Scottish Festival Singers accompanied by St Cuthbert's church organ, singing 14 hymns that "reach across the centuries" (their quote, not mine). Unfortunately, the aforementioned combination usually resulted in sleep by 8pm. Don't get me wrong, I have the greatest respect for the integrity of the great men and women of God who wrote these powerful words. I suppose it is a matter of taste. But if you want my opinion, and I understand that is what reviewing is all about, this is only useful for your music library.
