Intriguingly, the Scottish folk rockers with a Belfast-born singer (Sammy Homer) are probably today more popular in the USA than the UK, but, in Scotland at least, this could be stocked with confidence. An exuberant live set containing many of their best songs "(Back Of Your Head", "Livin' It Up When I Die", "The Blessing") sung and played with maximum passion and minimum subtlety. Somebody once described the Electrics as Christendom's answer to the Pogues which rather misses Sammy's brilliant, scalpel-sharp lyric writing, but it certainly gives those still unacquainted with their brand of rollicking reel rock an idea of what to expect.
