This is a 'rough' showcase of the band's material and judging by this I would say they are a band to watch out for. The songs are evangelistic and simple, the musicianship is excellent. The band have a new wave sound reminiscent of early Duran Duran. I personally like that sort of music, some may say it is dated, well maybe so but then why not, after all 70s disco grooves are back in style. Two things let it down, though. The vocals are weak, lacking the passion of the music. This undermines the album as far as I'm concerned. The Absolute could also do with some backing singers, as the vocals are not strong enough to stand alone. The second let down is the recording quality -it doesn't do the band justice. In need of polish.
