American inspirational balladeer Terry Warren recorded an independent album in 2002 'Lifted Up By Angels' and more recently has visited the UK through the auspices of the NCM network. Now at long last album number two has released. 'Amazing Love' takes the cross as its central theme and sets out to praise God from the word go. Originals such as "I Remember Calvary", "The Blood" and "May The Cross Be My Glory" celebrate Christ's redemptive sacrifice and Warren's sizeable vocal talents - he recently secured the lead role in Les Miserables on Broadway - ensure that this is done with heartfelt passion. As you would expect from a Nashville recording, there is slick production from Joe Beck and Duncan Mullins and Warren's versatility is evident throughout as he moves from the rock-tinged "God You're Beautiful" to the expertly executed Les Miserables favourite "Bring Him Home". Old chestnuts such as the Gaither classic "Because He Lives" and hymn evergreen "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" are included for good measure but come across as slightly workmanlike compared to the material found elsewhere on this album. Nonetheless, an enjoyable and God-glorifying release from a talented vocalist.
