This six-track EP is a bold step to be taken by any band, even more so when you are a highly successful award winning CCM team. The band address controversial subjects in their lyrics here which may raise some eyebrows - casual sex, pornography, hate and sexual abuse amongst other subjects, with the view to inspire conversations on these very issues. In addition, the band have created teaching videos where lead singer Mike Donehey provides insight and explanation for each song. Although lyrics are the talking point here, musically the EP is as relevant and memorable well-crafted pop rock as we've come to expect from Tenth Avenue North. "Covenent" which opens the collection is a prime example. The opening catchy keyboard hides the challenging lyrics of relationship commitment when you feel "the spark with someone else" whilst apart. "Counterfeits" with its drum-driven chart friendly feel declares "I want the real thing" while confessing "I gave up love to chase my lust", pointing the listener away from what is "Imitation Or Simply For Sale". On first listen, this collection will stop you in your tracks. On repeated playing it will help you address very real challenges. Absolutely outstanding.
