Six songs from Rotherham-based rock band Superseed (great name eh? Supercede? Geddit?). The band serve up delightful dollops of emotional rock music mixing chunky guitars with soulful vocals. Strongly melodic and yet also capable of letting loose with some edgy stuff on songs like the opening Hypocrisy and the powerful Never Be The Same. Good dynamics in creating understated troughs which then build to anthemic peaks, Superseed also have a quieter keyboard-driven side to them. Wasted Years is a heartbreaking reflection on spiritually taking the wrong path and the final restoration that comes after allowing God to deal with the time wasting. My favourite track is the straight ahead loose rock of the hedonistic tale of Jonnie living life on the edge. For all its budget limitations, the band have managed to create something which has raw passion and though it s rough around the edges, Unfinished Business is a clear start and I look forward to when the band have the resources to cut their first album.
