Four fifths of the original Stryper line-up (bassist Tim Gaines is not present) are back following a 20th anniversary reunion tour and live album that indicated a green light from the man upstairs for a return to the fray. The spandex may be gone - wisely so, I'd say, and the lads may look a little, erm, frayed at the edges, but boy can they still rock?! Opener "Open Your Eyes" leaves the listener in no doubt that this is not an empty gesture; these guys really mean it. The riffs are as hard as ever, the widdley-widdley bits as...well, widdley-widdley as ever, and who cares if it sounds a lot like Bon Jovi? Watch out for the final two cuts, a radical reworking of "Amazing Grace" followed by a brand new reading of the Stryper classic "In God We Trust". Totally lacking in subtlety, but utterly committed to God, Stryper are back, and I for one am glad to see them on such blistering form.

4 fifths of the original line up! Mr Best please check that most basic of facts. Stryper are a 4 piece. Tim Gaines has left and been replaced. He may be about to return to the fold to play on the 2009 tour but Stryper was never a 5 piece.

If you like "To Hell with the Devil", then i am afraid that you will be disappointed in this CD.

There are virtually no guitar solos........it all mid-paced timing on the songs.....and even the harmonies sound half-hearted.

If you love classic 80's Stryper ....... DO NOT buy this CD.
Its just not what its hyped up to be.

love this one - looked them up on CrossRhythms to buy 'To hell with the devil' and discovered this well-produced album. Check it....

Hi, Steve. Just read your review of Reborn by Stryper. Not heard it yet, but I'll definately check it out. Stryper are definately BIG GUN players!! I'm thrilled they're together again. Michael Sweet is a fabulous songwriter and player. KMc.
