This latest album from Starfield is their first independent project, having parted company with their record company after 2010's 'The Saving One'. Despite this change, this is in the same musical vein as much of their previous work, with driving rock tracks, interspersed with a few ballads, being the order of the day. There are a few particularly anthemic numbers, namely "Natural Disaster", "Just Surrender" and "All I Want Is You". There are few weak songs on this album, the slower "Heart And Flesh" is possibly not as strong as the rest but still holds its own. The album is lyrically pretty strong as well. The group have avoided many common traps and clichés and the result is a maturity of writing that may well stand the test of time. Production-wise, the independent nature of the record hasn't impacted its professionalism: this is a balanced and well mixed record. In the end it's fairly generic rock, but it serves its purpose with a decent helping of style and polish and for that Starfield are to be commended.
