First the facts, there are three of them, they are based in Northern Ireland and they play guitars, drums and sing. Oh yes, they have guitars, loud ones and they are not afraid to use them. I'd say they inhabit the indie-ish end of the rock spectrum, kind of Nirvana but less angry. But I must make it clear that it's not just an exercise in noisy angst, they do quiet and thoughtful too. Maybe it's the mix of styles that makes it very much to my taste. Also Smallfish are not afraid to "express spiritual truths in spiritual words" letting the words of the songs speak for themselves. A good example are the verses of the first song which come straight from Psalm 69. The songs are all dated 2003 so I wonder what they have been up to since then? Better check the website.
