Vol 5 of this American offering is firmly set in the easy listening genre. Unlike its 'Trumpet' successor, there is a small amount of diversity and drive behind the music, but some tracks leave you with the feeling of déjà vu, and quite frankly they sound the same as the 'Trumpet' album. Surprisingly enough, this album features the highly acclaimed American musician Joe Gransden, who sports a jazz background and training, but the listener is left feeling that the production and supporting musicians have let the featured artist down through lack of creativity. Sadly, I think the only word that could describe the Simplicity series of albums is "lacking". This album is great if you are into background music, but not really one for blasting out of your car stereo!
