From the first listen it becomes obvious that British R&B gospel man Simeon is a very talented chap with some talented friends (Freddie Kofi features highly). The songs are all well written by Pennant, on an album which he co-produces and seems to be prominently involved in marketing. From the gentle worship song "Worship And Adore" to the more upbeat "Love Thy Neighbour" the songs all convey a strong message which is well worth listening to. "Love Thy Neighbour" for example, encouraging a less self-centred way of life to that which many people led, putting others first in order to please God. It is in fact the strong, prominent Christian message that makes up for the few let downs on this recording (including one seriously flat lead vocal!). Pennant and the other guest singers all have great voices and the musicians on this album are all of the highest calibre, in particular the two brilliant sax players. But some of the lyrics are a little corny ("I'm the apple of your eye/Your sugar pie") and unfortunately it is these that stick in your head. The best tracks are defiantly the ones that take a few listens to get into.
