As an outfit, Nottingham's Sibling have been around since the late 1990s and have released a string of independent recordings though nothing for a goodly while so this four-song EP is welcome. It builds on a distinctive indie sound, combining melodic riffing and haunting vocals on a background of edgy, distorted guitar work. The strongest track, "I'm Not Looking" has a vocal that is heavily processed, effectively matching the catchy guitar work. This is followed by "Wake Up Call" with its harder choruses, calm verses and driving bass. The last two tracks are quieter and more open pieces that showcase Sibling's reflective and well crafted lyrics. These broader soundscapes, however, reveal the limitations of a restricted budget, sounding a little thin at times.
