Long-time followers of British Christian rock will recognise the name Sibling. This Nottingham-based band of alternative rockers have been releasing independent projects since 1998. 'Not Forgotten' starts strongly. Swirling guitar work with a solid driving bass is typical of the sound that the band have been producing for many years now. The album contains an inventive selection of laid back rock tracks, only drawing one from their previous EP, 'Not Looking For Paradise'. As with earlier outings, a lack of finances means that at times the recording appears a tad thin and Phil Edmundson's vocals are a little exposed. But tracks such as "Release" and the unusually named "TMWTWOTWOHS" are more textured and showcase the songwriting skills of these East Midlanders. Added strings bring fullness to "Beautiful Truth" which is one of the strongest tracks on offer. The band's reflective style is matched by the tempo of some gentle rock refrains. 'Not Forgotten' is available as a free download from the band's website and is well worth a listen.
