This double disc gospel praise album from Shekinah Glory Ministry sees them repeating the formula of their last release. It's a simple approach but boy does it pay dividends! This is basically a worship team from a church so they set up and record one of their meetings and what happens is captured on tape and that's it! The powerful thing is that this group are not averse to prophetic utterance and exhortation or if the moment comes to speak out in tongues, there it is on the CD and there are moments of spontaneous worship. Compared to the safe and unadventurous "live" worship and gospel albums that have emerged from the modern worship movement, this is like a spiritual experience beamed in from another planet! Difficult to sum up a few highlights but I'm going to try! "Stomp" is a fantastic grooving rallying call that with its reprise takes you into epic worship! Talking of grooves, "Worthy" which includes a prophetic song takes up a compelling 18 minutes on the first disc! If you've never heard spontaneous prophetic worship, the first disc closes with the congregation raising their voices in new song. Prophetic song also takes up a lot of the second disc here but there are also further killer songs that will grab hold of you like the 11 minute powerful title cut "Jesus". Another highlight is "I Need More" with its beautiful melody, fabulous choir arrangement and worshipful feel. Compared to more commercially successful gospel praise albums and the live worship that seems to be pumped into the scene with monotonous regularity and predictability, Shekinah Glory Ministry are doing something original and spiritually impacting and should be applauded!
