Although Sheila Katorobo Katumwa began her music ministry whilst at University in Kampala, Uganda, she and her husband have been based in the UK since 2003. Sheila's first solo release can best be described as a mini-album, since it runs at just under 33 minutes in total. Nevertheless, the diverse musical stylings of the eight songs are more than sufficient as an initial taster for her talents. "Lord Of The Dance" begins the action with an urban gospel groove, but then it's back to Sheila's African roots with the relaxed bi-lingual praise song "Kweli". The title cut is an uplifting worship ballad which features some impressive multi-layered backing vocals, "Sing And Sing" is perhaps the most pop-orientated track here, and "It's Your Turn" is an appealing fusion of African and gospel sounds, even if a typo on the sleeve has its chorus lyrics written as beginning "Resounding symbols" (sic). Kirk Franklin's influence can be be heard on "Fill Our Hearts", but both this and finale "I Will Worship" (penned by Daniel Jones) are both marred by being a little overladen with lyrical clichés. That's not enough to spoil the general impression though and hopefully Sheila has much more in store for us.
