Having re-located to Dallas, Dorset-born singer/songwriter, worship leader and poet Sharon Tedford brings us 'Stand'. An accompanying book of the same name details the stories and Scriptures behind the self-penned songs. Produced by Jon-Johnson Robinson the material here is firmly in the inspirational, MOR genre. Opener "Stand Still" sets the tone for much of what is to come; the minimalistic backdrop of light keys, percussion and guitars being a real throwback to '80s easy listening. Acapella track "This Is Our Prayer" is a plea for God to move in power while "The Power Of A Prayer" with its bright saxophone brings a much-needed musical variation as Sharon testifies to answered prayer. She has a warm, pleasant vocal but strains to hit the right notes at times. There is no doubting the heart behind this release but it failed to leave a mark with me.
