Seawind were one of the coolest bands of the 70s and certainly the funkiest! Whilst most Christian bands were rocking in the coffee bars and churches of America, Seawind's refreshing blend of jazz and funk was impressing clubland. Their horn section moonlighted on loads of albums including Michael Jackson's 'Off The Wall' and 'Thriller' so you can guarantee that musically, this is of the finest quality. Available for the first time on CD, this album takes songs from their mid-70s albums 'Seawind' and 'Window Of A Child' and just for good measure throws in some songs from 1981. The band slap down slices of meaty and melodious funk, the punchy horns punctuate the sound but central to the seven-piece band's music is the swooping, soaring pure vocal talent of Pauline Wilson. There's so much here which is outstanding, but I love the funk of "We Got A Way" and "Angel Of Mercy" which both groove along shamelessly with a life of their own! It's a credit to Seawind that 20 years later this sounds so fresh. Now there's so much retro funk around I suggest you get a hold of a copy of this, it's the genuine article!
