There's a powerful, powerful line on the song "Lay Me Down" which speaks fathoms about Scott's attitude to worship music ministry: "Lay me down on the altar, don't let me crawl away." One wonders how many fellowships around the world have been bold enough to sing such a song as this. When 'Bring Glory' was released in 2005 Scott gave an insightful interview which showed that this passionate songsmith was not some Chris Tomlin wannabe nor a man eager to embrace the marketing label "worship artist". He said, "In our culture worship is something we do in a church building - we 'worship' and then the preacher gives a sermon. But the way I see it, worship is better defined as a life lived in submission to our great and holy God. A life lived on the altar." And the songs on this set truly bring out the truth that we are called to be living sacrifices abandoned to God's purposes and directions. "Altar Of My Heart" expresses this wonderfully while the punchy rock title track underlines the fact that everything we do is to bring glory to God. The album finishes with a mid-tempo exhortation to "Show Them Jesus" and, as a bonus track, Scott's US Christian radio hit "I Love You Lord". All in all, a magnificent worship album.
