Saving Grace is the nom-de-musique of Spencer Hunt, a Grimsby-based singer/songwriter whose debut release this is. This little four-track CD EP has a pleasant ballad quality, mainly piano-driven, with the material having a generally “outreach to the not-yet-saved” flavour, apart from the title track, which Spencer tells me is designed for a worship setting. Given the likely budget available, this is nicely presented (the lack of lyrics in the CD sleeve is a minus point, but I quibble), is perfectly acceptable production-wise and whilst the mood and tempo never rise above the gentle and slow, this is a promising first effort.
