If this album had been released 10 years ago, it would have been recognised as innovative and stylish, but praise and worship has now progressed to be more in line with main stream contemporary music in style and sound, leaving 'Precious And Honoured' sounding dated. The album is a mix of new songs and familiar hymns set to new music. Although the lyrics are inspiring they are let down by the style of the music and some of the songs. Exceptions to these are "Let Us Fix Our Eyes Upon Jesus" and the new music for Charles Wesley's "And Can It Be". Roger's work in Christian musicals and taking the Renewal into unexpected corners of Christendom is renowned. But his music urgently needs to come to terms with the 90s.
