This is the second album from this South African outfit established by Smit following the demise of his previous band Unusual Addiction, and excellent it is. Although the regular four-piece line-up is supplemented on this recording by keys, it retains the guitar-driven essence and offers 10 tracks (44 minutes) of well-constructed, interesting rock worship tracks. All songs are penned by Smit and the result is an album which, by virtue of good variety of texture and tempo (but never straying very far from what are clearly the roots of the band), is never dull or repetitive. Interestingly, even for this genre there is an unusually high proportion of songs which take Jesus as their subject rather than songs in which he is addressed directly. The combination of some sensitive lyrics, over-driven guitars and punchy drums make this an above average release.
