Robin Willow is a '70s-styled English folk singer, with a fine country lilt and an unashamed love of good old fashioned melodic folk tunes, most with a definite moral or storyline. Self-penned every one, they're all in the moderately upbeat category and there is a certain catchiness (but also a sameness) to the music. As for the lyrics - well, you can't complain they're not original! Thoroughly unique and verse-a-plenty, themes include an evasive china doll, "A Safe Place To Work", and tributes to both Princess Diana and Ronald Reagan! A couple of tracks are overtly patriotic, such as that in defence of the British pound. Meanwhile songs referring to matters of biblical spirituality amount to just one (the result of a vivid dream), while another praises Neftertari, "Queen Of The Nile". All in all, fine pub material, though Robin is clearly so fond of his own songs that, concerned that you may miss one, he repeats most of them as bonus tracks!
