Reviewed by Paul Kerslake There is a paragraph in the Houston band's second record label album addressing their fans that includes the line, "We recently discovered that our faith and our actions seemed miles apart." 'Give Yourself Away' is the musical product of that discovery. Each of the 12 tracks are based on a call to action in this world, the opener, "Rise", states "People of love, give yourself away", "Love Wins" talks about "Love being the last thing standing, look above because love wins." There are also some great praise songs on this album that would work well in a worship setting; "Shine Your Light On Us" is almost hymnal in this respect. The five-piece have a style much bigger than their number with a sound you could slot somewhere in between Coldplay and Delirious?. The booklet concludes, "Can we respond together? I know that as we give ourselves away to those in need, the gospel story of help will come alive." This is an inspiring album in so many different respects, I hope it does call people to action and with the songs "New Day", "Starting Over", "Shine Your Light", "Love Wins", "Eternal One" and "Come Alive" selected for Cross Rhythms radio play I think it will do just that.
