I'll avoid obvious comparisons to Coldplay and Keane as I write this review, as I'm sure this Edinburgh-based singer/songwriter has heard it all before! Rob's four-track offering starts well with the impressive "Everything You Are" as the driving guitar and synth hook to this song kicks in, bookended by a crashing snare drum and underpinned by a thumping bass line. Rob's expressive vocals deliver the lines "'cause the person you are is all you'll ever be when the curtain falls/And the things that you are is all you'll ever take when your maker calls" - these lyrics punctuated by a haunting musical arrangement. "See You Later", continues in the same vein and is equally well written, arranged and delivered, while "Rule The Day" contains some beautiful lyrics. The arrangement on the final two tracks could allow more space for Rob to display his (make no mistake) great voice.
