In the sleevenotes Rob writes, "Creation is all around us. In a world of industry, technology, and materialism, it is all too easy to let the beauty of nature pass you by. The aim of this project was to depict various aspects of the natural world in music and song." Rob Baker is a talented pianist and thematically he explores the wonder of creation and how it speaks of the glory of God, A fabulous concept and this CD contains some brilliant music sensitively played and focussed on Rob's piano. Although a lot of this is pretty laid back and atmospheric, there are moments when it explodes as on "The Mountains Will Burst Into Song" and "The Righteous Will Flourish Like A Palm Tree" which are both upbeat, jazzy pieces in stark contrast to some of the other music here. As for the quieter pieces, my favourite has to be the flowing "Like Rain Falling On A Mown Field, Like Showers Watering The Earth" which is enchanting. If you're looking for some fresh instrumental music and you're tired of buying albums that are just retreads of the choruses and hymns, invest in Rob's inspiring music.
