Everybody's doing it you know, going back to their roots that is. So why not Rob Ash? He's always been a good acoustic artist and has, for a long time, wanted to put out an album without all the production paraphernalia, just him and a guitar. I was expecting to hear a bit more of the blues sound that influenced Rob in his early days, but this is present in only small quantities, such as the subtle use of slide guitar on "Water Of Life". Most of the material is light-rock orientated with some mellower numbers like "Keep Your Family Together" and "Sunrise", a pleasant, meditative instrumental. I think this is probably Rob's finest album, showing genuinely talented musicianship.
