Shame there's only seven songs on this, I could have listened to at least another five. Nottingham-based songsmith Richard has a definite feel here, a style that's all his own. If someone held me in a head-lock and told me I had to liken him to someone everyone knows then I'd say his singing sounds like Neil Tennant and then I'd say, "get yer sweaty arms off my head." The acoustic guitar chords hauntingly creep forward underpinning the songs. The female backing vocals don't work, nor are they needed. Energetic congas make up the soundscape. Richard's songs reflect aspects of praise and are sung directly to God. It wouldn't be easy teaching these songs to Norman from the Normal Christian Centre located in the picturesque town of Normalton, not far from the river Norm, excepting "We Bow Down", which is a fine worship song.
