Red is the latest musical incarnation of Ali Loaker, an experienced Christian rock muso whose River/Infopop and Evergreen bands were excellent grassroots units. Now with Mike Ellis he leads worship at Redemption Church in Stevenage. There are many different types of song on this album from the initial anthemic "Let Your Kingdom Come" to times of spontaneous worship that have been included in two sections of the CD. Both Mike Ellis and Ali Loaker are talented musicians, each playing a variety of instruments although there is an advert on their website for someone who feels called to join the band to go and help them. The vocals on some songs are a little raw, however this actually adds to the passion of some of the songs. This album contains a lot of potential for the future. Welcome back Ali.
