With praise and worship currently THE marketing buzz word and seemingly every big name in Nashville hurredly assembling albums of their favourite worship choruses, it would be easy to be cynical at Rebecca's worship project. But in fact the Australian-born queen of Christian teen pop has clearly long been a passionate worshipper and her contributions to other worship projects demonstrate that 'Worship God' is an affair of the heart, not a project conceived by Nashivlle suits. This is a delightful, multi-textured celebration of God's love. From the haunting opening rendition of Matt Redman's "Let My Words Be Few" to the beautiful "Omega" hidden track first heard on her 'Pray' album, this is wonderful stuff with producer Matt Bronleewe fusing guitars and keyboards with ethereal string arrangements yet allowing Rebecca's tremulously vulnerable voice pride of place in the mix. And it says something for Rebecca's growing songwriting ability that in the company of such top notch worship songs of Steve Hindalong's "God Of Wonders" and Matt Redman's "Better Is One Day", Rebecca's "Lamb Of God" and "Quiet You With My Love" are every bit as memorable. A fine worship album.
