The problem with calling your band Radio Friendly, as this Californian four-piece have, is that the term is, in some circles at least, a pejorative one. Hipster reviewers, who seem to increasingly populate the internet, use the phrase when displaying their disdain with what they hear on Top 40 radio and its Christian equivalent such as America's heavily formatted K-Love stations. As it turns out, the band Radio Friendly are too raw rock'n'roll to get much shrift from the K-Love gatekeepers and despite this seven-song mini-album's lack of a startlingly new sound, having a strong vocalist, plenty of tight and gutsy riffing and lyrics which are straight ahead declarations of passionate devotion to Christ make this a well above average release. The crunching opener title track, the catchy "Uptown Downtown" (complete with a head-to-the-sky axe solo) and RF's enthusiastic cover of Phil Wickham's "Hold On" all impress. Will it make the Cross Rhythms radio playlist? Possibly.
