I liked the idea of this, probably because at least once a long time ago I played second violin in a string quartet playing the hymns for a service - I took the alto line. So I know it works. The Ireland String Quartet make a good job of these new hymns and worship songs. Lovely arrangements, the tone is rich, the harmony perfectly balanced and there's an elegant lightness of touch. Should you feel so moved, the words are there for you to sing along. I'm not familiar with any of the songs myself, but the music stands alone, and I shall enjoy listening to it again and again.
