Popular in the States, Psalty and Co have been successful in helping to lead kids and their families to God, have worked alongside the venerable Billy Graham and Luis Palau and have seen over 100,000 kids give their lives to Jesus over the last few years. So, this latest offering definitely should have something going for it. Trouble is, it still sounds way too American and is sickly sweet for the average British palate. There are a few tolerable moments - "Written In The Word", a spirituals medley, and the ever popular "Arky Arky" (you know, the one about Noah and the floody floody). The problem boils down to the kids choirs, Psalty's irritating voice and a feeling that kids are here to be patronised. If your kids can handle these, no worries! While not as cloying as the worst American kiddies' stuff, this still drives slowly through Cringeville.
