Psalty (a very large blue and yellow singing songbook, in case you didn't know) is not the worst offender when it comes to American kid's albums; take for example the rockin' "Shake It Out", or the country tinged "Don't Be A Chicken", pretty neat stuff. It's just those voices that tend to grate on yer napper after a while, the links between songs go on forever and some of the instrumentation is 'bailable'. This adventure sees the song book and pals in France, which for reasons best known to the producers, seemed to make a mind numbing version of "Frere Jacques" an obvious choice. Having said all of that, and bearing in mind that young children don't mind the accents, most kids seem to have a place in their hearts for Psalty. Parents, I think, also have a place, but heart-shaped it ain't.
