In a society that increasingly regards covenant promises as an inconvenience when minds are changed, the Promise Keepers' initiative is an excellent encouragement to Christian men to live lives that are characterised by integrity. Part One of 'Raise The Standard' comprises of songs that have been used in worship at Promise Keepers conferences across the USA. Musically, you get the anointed and godly (as well as extremely talented) Michael Omartian, Abe Laboriel, Justo Almario, Harlan Rogers, Bill Maxwell and Alex Acuna! Taking into account the mixed ages and ethnic backgrounds of participants, this has a variety of styles. So there are stirring classic hymns like "Crown Him With Many Crowns" and "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" done in traditional style. But then you get a calypso version of "Lord I Lift Your Name On High". All in all, stirring live worship.
